Day 4 - Ranthambhore Fort

This is SoloSunny my 15yr old guide
The Honeymoon Wing...

The Fort is believed to have been build in 944 AD over 1600 years old.

The Ranthambhore Fort

What is it's history? The original medieval Sultans of Delhi had the fort strategically situated. The fort gives a birds eye view of the entire district. There are many levels that have been created to give military strength and advantages.

In the 19th century the fort was used to execute prisoners by throwing them off the walls after doping them with opium....

The atmosphere in the fort itself is electric and fills you with mystery awe and wonder at the stories these walls must hold. The honeymoon site is brilliantly placed facing the water below and the scenery.

The Beautiful Peacock runs wild here
The view from the honeymoon wing behind me.....
Monkeys, peacocks, parrots all frequent this area.

A wreath of roses were placed over my head and my guide SoloSunny (15yrs old @ cost of $300 rupees/$6) saved me from a horrid scare when a monkey approached me. SoloSunny quickly took the wreath and gave to the monkey to eat....thank goodness!

Monkey's everywhere....
