We left Cherai Beach Resort late, our driver Sharfeekh had been up most of the night talking with the resort staff, so he slept in. This was irritating...as since there were so many Europeans staying at the resort, breakfast did not start to be prepared until after 8am.
I approached the manager to request enough variety so that we could at least eat "something" before our departure at 8:30am. We were ready.....but where was Sharfeekh? Reception woke him up and at 9:20am we finally began our departure 160km to Munnar.
