Late in the afternoon, we arrived at the Kochi airport to be introduced to our new driver Sharfeekh.
We have a smooth trip to our beautiful Cherie Beach Resort. Upon check in we go to get all our passports to find Darrien's is missing.....
I was NOT happy!
The manager took control
"Madam, do not spoil your holiday, I will call the airport and everything will be okay!"
We negotiated 560 rupees for 56kms and drove back to the airport to collect Darrien's passport!
By the time we returned, it was dark and dinner had finished at 9pm. No meal tonight!

While the manager was on the phone, our driver had recieved a call from our travel agent to say that the Spicejet airline had called. They had his passport!
We negotiated 560 rupees for 56kms and drove back to the airport to collect Darrien's passport!
Our Driver
Sharfeekh is a 23 year old muslim boy who has an older brother (married) and a younger brother. He has an arranged marriage that will occur in two years time. He would like to be a taxi driver in Australia, he speaks Malayalam. Over the next nine days together I have learnt some of this language. My name Amanda is Nina-panda in Malayalam.
