Nothing prepared me for it's sheer size & granduer..
The sun sparkles off the white marble. We even saw how the marble changes colour at night.
I agree that it's architectural beauty has not been surpassed. I'm amazed that it only took 22 yrs to build.
To think that it's entirely out of marble...even more so.
The carvings are exquisite, the whole story of it's creation extremely romantic...
