Day 9 - Thekkaddy

I awoke before Dawn and stood on our balcony to await and witness the rise of another sunrise.

The breakfast at The Siena Village was excellent!

Another early departure was needed so that we could reach our next destination Thekkady. We changed our schedule from having another boat trip (that was going to cost us) to instead enjoy a traditional Ayurvedic body massage.

I found striping naked very confronting...the entire massage was very restful and relieved alot of the stress from the previous day's disasters. The massage was 90 minutes and included a wonderful herbal steam bath.

The treehouse at Carmelia Resort was absolutely beautiful. In the middle of natural rainforest, the sound of rustling leaves, animal life and bird calls floated around our accommodation.

The food....absolutely to die for! They had some of the best curries we had tasted, completed the traditional Kerala way.

Our Treehouse

I attempted to get the recipe from the chef for their "fish curry" but they only laughed and stated that it was a house secret and NOT to be given away.....drats!
