Day 3 - Goodbye Delhi

We started our departure from The White Klove Hotel in Delhi @ 9:30am.

Another View from the Hotel
What a city of contrasts, tall buildings, architectual marvels, rich in history and culture all situated in a modern city but mixed with livestock being housed with their owners in nearby slums.
Homelessness and poverty are also clearly witnessed everywhere you go...

The View of the Street in front of our Hotel
in Delhi.

It was quaint having a lullabye of cows mooing, goats going baaa, roosters crowing, horns in the distance, and a old man singing prayers on a neighboring rooftop.......

As we left Delhi for more "rural" areas, a slower paced society emerged. These are poor people with simple needs....but then there are still surprises install. As EVERYONE has a mobile phone. 1 gb of internet on a mobile costs .98ruppes or $1 Aussie....

This is what women wear everyday in India....
Working - but still beautifully dressed

The dust is pretty bad, so some of the
women cover their face with a transparent
scarf.

A typical fruit market stall in both city and rural areas
Another everyday sight along the road
The women carry everything on their head
Goat herders head home at dusk
Seriously ladies...we have life GOOD!! These women work from dawn to dusk
and then some!!! When was the last time you did hard physical labour?

  1. It's a eye-opener getting an insight into other cultures. The women do work hard don't they. I guess the men are all watching the cricket in disgust?

  2. LOL yeah...our driver Manoj was NOT impressed Australia was winning. The men that i've seen manage livestock, build and talk in groups alot.
